Instructional Material : Chart showing some of the reasons why we eat together as family

Previous Knowledge : Learners have been taught family and can identify members of the families.

Content :

It iis a good habit to eat together in a family. Some people eat together with their family once in a year, especially during the festival period. While some people eat with their families everyday.

Why we eat together in the family.

  1. Eating together in the family promotes love.
  2. It helps the family to be close to one another.
  3. It helps to develop good eating habit
  4. It helps to educate children on the best food eat.
  5. It encourages togetherness in the family

Presentation Steps :

Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions.

Step 2: He/ she introduces the new Lesson to the learners by explaining, “why do we eat?”, “what are the types of food we eat?”

Step 3 : The teacher then guides the learners and state reasons why we eat together as family members.

Evaluation/ Assessment :

  1. Why do we eat?
  2. List five examples of food we eat.
  3. State three reasons why family members eat together.

Conclusion/ Wrap up : The teacher summarizes the lesson for a better understanding, makes necessary corrections and marks the learners notes.
