Content :
A family is a group of people related by blood, marriage or adoption.
Types of Family
There are two main types of family. These are :
- Nuclear family
- Extended family
Nuclear family : This is a type of family that consists of father, mother and their children.
Extended family : This consists of two or more adults who are related by either blood or marriage. This family includes many relatives living and working together.
Families are of different forms. These are :
- Single parent family : This is one parent raising one or more children.
- Childless family : This consists of husband and wife living together without a child.
- Step family : It consist of new husband and wife and children from previous marriage.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new Lesson to the learners by identifying the types of family.
Step 3 : Explains the nuclear family and identify its members.
Step 4 : Describe the extended family and different forms of families.
