Extended Family

Extended family is the type of family that is made up of father, mother, children and other relatives.

The other relatives includes : grandparents (grand father and grand mother), uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, cousin.

Grand parents are the father and mother of your parents. It is made up of maternal and paternal grand parents.

Uncle : This is the brother of your father or mother.

Aunt : This is the sister of your mother or father.

Niece : This is the daughter of your sisters or brothers.

Nephew : This is the son of your brothers or sisters.

Cousins : These are the children (sons and daughters) of your uncles or aunts.

Presentation Steps :

Step 1: The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions orally.

Step 2: Introduces the new Lesson topic to the learners by explaining the extended family.

Step 3: Identify and list the members of the extended family.

Step 4: Describes each member of the extended family.
