Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Explain the meaning of respect
ii. Describe ways of respecting National Symbols.
- iii. Identify some of the national symbols being respected.
Content :
Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
It can also be defined as due regard for the feelings, wishes, or rights of others.
Our National symbols are symbols of honor and Authority which must be respected by every citizens.
The following are ways of showing respect for National symbols:
1. We must stand at attention when reciting the National anthem .
2. We show respect to our currency by handling them neatly with care. Money should not be roughened, squeezed.
3. When reciting the pledge, it is an oath of allegiance to be faithful, loyal and honest.
4. We show respect by protecting government properties .
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revision of the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by explaining “Respect for our nation symbols.
Step 3 : Describe ways of showing respect for our national symbols.
Evaluation :
1. Mention three ways of respecting the national symbols :
