i. Mention the six classes of food.
ii. Identify each of the classes of food with examples of each.
Previous Knowledge: Learners are familiar with functions of food.
Content:
There are six classes of food.
1. Carbohydrates : Examples of carbohydrate foods are rice, bread, yam, Àmàlà, Eba, etc.
2. Protein : Examples of protein food are beans, fish, meat, egg, etc
3. Vitamins: Examples of vitamins food are: orange, banana, paw paw, apple, grape, berry, pear, pineapple
4. Minerals: Examples of mineral food are banana, tomatoes, prawn, crab, pepper
5. Fats and oil: Examples of fat and oil food a are : butter, cheese, groundnut, margarine, coconut, etc.
6. Water: drink clean and pure water.
Presentation Step:
Step 1: Review of the previous knowledge with the learners
Step 2: Introduces the new topic to the learners by asking them to mention the six classes of food.
Step 3: He asks the learners to identify each classes of food with their examples.
