Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to
i. Identify the classes of plants
ii. Describe each classes of plant and mentions some examples.
Content :
Plants can be classified into two groups namely:
1. Vascular Plants and
2. Non – vascular Plants
1. Vascular plants : These are plants that have special tissues to move water and nutrients throughout the plant. They have root, stem and leaves.
For examples :
i. Ferns
ii. Gynosperms
iii. Flowering plants.
2. Non – Vascular Plants : These are plants that do not have special tissues to move water and nutrients throughout the plants. They do not have roots, leaves and stems.
For examples :
i. Amoeba
ii. Paramecium.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally
Step 2 : He/ she then introduces the new topic by identifying and explaining the two classes of plants.
Step 3 : He/ she then gives several examples of vascular and non-vascular plants.
