Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Define Security Agencies and list examples.
ii. Identify the security agencies in charge of traffic regulations.
Content :
Security Agencies are the government agencies that assist and ensures maintenance and enforcement of law and order in the society.
Each security agencies are established for a special purpose but work together for the smooth welfare of the country at large.
In Nigeria, there are some agencies controlling traffic regulations.
Examples are :
i. Police force
ii. Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
iii. Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), etc.
In Lagos State, there are also agencies that enforce and control traffic regulations as well.
Examples of the agencies are :
a.) LASTMA(Lagos State Transport Management Agency)
b.) KAI(Kick Against Indispline)
c.) Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps (LSNC).
d.) Commercial Business District Officers (CBD), etc.
They all work together to ensure there is no traffic on our road in Lagos State and it environment .
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new Lesson by explaining security agencies in charge of traffic.
Step 3 : Identifies the agencies in charge of traffic in Nigeria and Lagos State as well.
