Content :
CHANGES IN ANIMALS
Animal are living things, that experiences different changes as they grow. Changes in animal begins after birth. Most changes in plants are permanent changes. The changes that take place in animals are called METAMORPHOSIS.
Metamorphosis is the stages of development in animals from egg to adult.
Egg ==> Larva ==> Pupa ==> Adult
There are two types of metamorphosis,
1. Complete metamorphosis : involves four stages of development. Examples are : butterfly, ant, fleas, bees, moth,
Egg ==> Larva ==> Pupa ==> Adult
2. Incomplete metamorphosis : involves three stages of development. Examples are cockroaches, grasshopper, termites, crickets, praying mantis
Egg ==> Nymph ==> Adult
Examples of changes in Animals
Change in body temperature like Lizard.
Changes in size.
Increase in height.
Changes in skin colour like chameleon.
Changes from child to adult.
Some lay eggs which later hatches to offspring. Examples are lizard, hen, fishes, birds, etc.
Some gives birth to young one alive. Examples goat, dog, cat, cow, pig, etc.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE
Step 1 : The Teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions on Changes in Plant.
Step 2 : The Teacher introduces the lesson through question and answer by asking them to mention changes in Animals.
Step 3 : The Teacher explains the lessons and describe development stages in animals.
Step 4 : The Teacher explains the types of metamorphosis and gives examples of each.
