Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with community leaders.
Content :
Chieftaincy is a position given to someone that will lead other people.
Every society have different rulers or chiefs who direct their community or village.
Examples of chieftaincy titles are :
1. Oba : Ooni of Ifè, Aláàfin of Oyo
2. Émir : Sultan of Sokoto,
3. Eze : Eze of Enugu
4. Baálé : Oloto of Oyo,
5. Ìyá Oloja : Iya Oloja of Oyinbo Modern market.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Review of the previous topic with the learners.
Step 2 : Introduction of the new topic to the learners by explaining the meaning of chieftancy.
Step 3 : Gives examples of chieftaincy titles from different communities in Nigeria.
