Colour is the surface appearance of something within and around us.
Colours can be gotten naturally from plants. Some fruits and vegetables also have natural colours. For example :
i. Pawpaw is Orange.
ii. Pineapple is Yellow in colour.
iii. Tomato, pepper are colour red.
iv. Vegetables are mostly Green in colour.
v. Banana is Yellow in colour.
Types of colours
There are two types of colours
1. Primary colours : These are natural colours made up of red, blue and yellow.
2. Secondary Colours : These are colours formed by mixing or joining two primary colours.
a.) Red + Yellow = Orange
b.) Blue + Yellow = Green
c.) Red + Blue = Purple
Uses of colours
Colours are used for different purposes such as :
1. Painting of an object.
2. To design and make logo.
3. Dyeing of clothes, that is tye and dye.
4. Decorations : it is used in making decorations at home, in an office or in school.
5. Beautification in the interior and exterior part of a home.
6. Colours is used indicating traffic road signs. For example, zebra crossing, traffic light, etc.
