i. Say simple meaning of dressing
ii. Mention different examples of cultural attire.
Previous Knowledge: Learners are familiar with clothes they put on.
Content:
Dressing means to put on clothes to cover our body.
Cultural attire are the clothes worn by different culture or tribe in Nigeria. These are
1. Yoruba culture:
a.) Men: wears Sokoto, buba, agbada and fila
b.) Women: wears buba, ìró, kába and gele
2. Igbo culture:
a.) Men: wears wrapper, shirt and hat
b.) Women: wears blouse, two wrappers and head tie.
3. Hausa culture:
a.) Men: wears wide sleeves robe called babariga and cap.
b.) Women: wears colorful wrappers & matching blouse (Abaya)
Presentation Step:
Step 1: Review of the previous knowledge with the learners.
Step 2: Introduces the new topic to the learners by asking, “what is dressing?”
Step 3: Explains the cultural dressing.
Step 4: Mention the different dresses worn by men and women from different tribes.
Evaluation:
