ii. Identify the components of culture.
iii. Explain the importance of culture.
Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with their native foods, dresses and customs.
Content :
Culture is the total way of life of people. It includes the language they speak, the food they eat, their mode of dressings, etc.
Every tribe has its own CULTURE which is passes from one generations to another.
Culture is divided into two types, these are :
1. Material Culture : It includes food, clothes, Arts and craft, houses.
2. Non – Material Culture : This include language spoken, greeting, values, beliefs, etc.
Components of Culture.
The following are the major components of culture:
i. Language
ii. Dressing
iii. Food
iv. Music and dance
v. Religion
Importance of Culture.
1. It helps us to build our character
2. It brings about identity.
3. It helps us to differentiate between right and wrong.
4. It shapes the way people interact.
5. It gives sense of belonging towards the society.
6. Our culture gives us sense of security.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revision of the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : The teacher introduces the new topic, by explaining the meaning of culture and types
Step 3 : He / she identify components of C feet tree
