Content:
Meaning of Drug Abuse
Drugs are substances taken to relieve us of any pain.
Drug abuse is the act of using drugs in manner that harms the body. A drug may be helpful or harmful. There are many drugs that can change our mood and make us act strangely.

These drugs are very dangerous to our health. They are additive, which means we feel that we cannot be happy or live without them.
When people are addicted to drugs, they often do bad things such as stealing from their family and friends.
Examples of drugs that are abused are : cocaine, marijuana, alcohol, and heroine.
Ways of taking drugs into the body
Drugs comes in various forms, such as powder, tablets, capsule, liquid and gaseous forms.
The different ways of taking drugs into the body includes:
i.. Swallowing
ii. Injecting
iii. Sniffing
iv. inhaling
Presentation Steps :
Step I : The teacher revises the previous topic with the learners to arouse their interest.
Step II: He/ She introduces the new topic by explaining the meaning of drug and drug abuse.
Step III: He/ She explains the meaning of drug abuse and state their characteristics
Step IV: The teacher identify and list examples of commonly abused drugs.
