Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Explain the full meaning of LASTMA and FRSC.
ii. Identify them with their uniform.
iii. State their duties
Content :
FRSC : Federal Road Safety Corps is the government agency in charge of road safety. It was established in 1988.
Duties of FRSC
1. They check over speeding drivers.
2.They arrest drivers who disobey traffic road signs.
3. The make the highways safe for drivers and other road users.
4. They educate drivers.
5. They also check for overloading
LASTMA : The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority. It was established in the year 2000. The agency is to manage traffic in Lagos State.
Duties of LASTMA
1. To manage traffic in Lagos State.
2. Maintain effective traffic control
3. Prevent obstructions from the highway.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions orally.
Step 2 : He/ she introduces the new topic by stating the learning objectives
Step 3 : The teacher makes use of the picture to aid the description of LASTMA and FRSC
Step 4 : He/she guides the learners to mention duties of LASTMA and FRSC.
