Content :
Effects of Road Accidents
The following are the effects of road accidents on the road users.
1. Accident may lead to untimely death. That is loss of life.
2. It leads to Life injury (blindness, amputated legs or arms). This is also known as permanent disabilities
3. It may also cause temporary disabilities. E.g. Broken hands or leg, cuts, wound, swollen parts of the body.
4. Internal bleeding which may lead to death.
5. It causes damage of vital organs in our body.
6. It causes great damages of the vehicle parts
7. It leads to right-off of the vehicles. That is beyond repairs.
8. Accident can give rise to traffic build up.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them to mention causes of road accident
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by identifying effects of road accident on victims, that is drivers and other road users.
Step 3 : State some of the effect on the vehicles involved.
