Content :
Reasons for taking substances into the body
When substance is taken in through drinking, eating, inhaling, injecting and eating, it travels through the blood stream into the body.
We take substances into the body when we are :
1. Sick
2. Hungry and need energy
3. Thirsty
Effects of taking substances into the body.
Too much intake or excess of substances taken into the body can lead to negative effects.
When the substances are contaminated, it result in negative effect which create harm to the body.
Some of these effects are :
1. Stomach pain
2. Vomiting
3. Stooling
4. Restlessness or sleeplessness
5. Nausea
6. Dullness
7. Fainting
8. Death
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic to the learners by explaining causes of negative effects of substances in the body.
Step 3 : Mention some effects of excess intake of substances into the body.
