What is family?

A family is a group of people related by blood, marriage or adoption. A family is a social unit of two or more persons related by blood, marriage or adoption.

It is made up of father, mother and children.

Father : This is the head of the family. He is the bread winner of the family.

Mother is the one who takes care of the home.

Children help and assist their parents in running errands.

Family can be of different kinds or forms. These are :

  1. Single parent family
  2. Childless family
  3. Step family

Presentation Steps :

Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions orally.

Step 2 : He /she introduces the new topic to the learners by defining family

Step 3 : He/ she then identify and list members of a family.

Step 4 : He then mentions and explains the different kinds of family.
