Content :
System Unit / CPU
System unit is a case or chassis that contains the electronic components of a computer used to process data. It is made of plastic, steel or metal used to protect the internal electronic components from damage.
The main function of a system unit is to hold and protect all other internal components. It also regulates the other parts of the computer to function that is, all other parts of the computer system are connected to the system unit. Other functions of the system unit is that it allows proper air flow, help reduce the noise generated y the fan, protect the components from dust.
Types of System Unit Casing.
There are two types of system unit casing. These are :
Desktop Casing : This type of casing lies flat on the desk in the landscape or horizontal position.
Tower Casing : This type of casing stands up tall beside the monitor in a portrait or vertical position.
