Little Aliyu was very happy. His father had already bought a very fat ram in preparation for the Id-El-Kabir. Aliyu was sure that he was going to have his own share of the meat when the ram was eventually killed on the day of the festival. So he gladly went out each evening to cut evening to cut grass for the ram. He felt that the ram should be properly fed so that it might produce a lot of meat when it was killed. On the Id-El-Kabir day, Aliyu put on his best clothes. He was among the first batch of worshippers to arrive at the praying ground. All the prayers, singings and preaching done there meant very little to him. He was concerned with only one thing. As soon as the service was over they would go back home eagerly. He went to the yard to fetch the ram. The ram had escaped.
