Section A : Comprehension
Instruction : Read the following passage and answer the questions that follows.
Abdul wandered in the desert for nearly three days but found no water. He thought of nothing but water to drink. At about ten o’clock on the third night, feeling very tired and thirsty, he lay down to sleep. The sound of thunder disturbed his sleep. A few drops of rain splashed on him. He got up and with great joy collected some rain water and drank it. He then continued on his journey, not riding on his camel but leading it because the clouds had covered the moon. Just before dawn he heard a loud and confused noise to the right of his course. He went towards the sound and was happy to find that the noise was the croaking of frogs in a shallow, muddy pool. There were so many frogs, that it was hard to see the surface of the water. The noise the frog made frightened the camel. He had to keep them quiet by beating the surface of the pool with a stick, while he and the camel drank. When they had had enough, Abdul climbed a stunted tree to survey the land.
