Content :
Forming Adverbs from Adjectives
Adverbs are words that tell us more about a verb. They go with verbs to tell us when, how, and where an action took place. They are usually formed by adding ‘-ly’ to an adjective.
For example:
i. Clever – cleverly
ii. Quick – quickly
iii. Slow – slowly
When the adjective ends in – y, we will change the ‘y’ to letter ‘ily’.
For examples :
a. Happy – happily
b. Angry – angrily
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by explaining ways of forming Adverbs from Adjectives .
Step 3 : Gives several examples and asks the learners to do some as class work.
