Fraction is the numerical quantity that is not a whole number. For example 1/2, 0, 5. It also means small part of a whole. It is made up of two numbers called the numerator and denominator.
whole = 1
Half = 1/2
One – quarter = 1/4
Three – quarter = 3/4
Fractions as part of a whole.
In fraction, of simply means multiplication (x). For example:
1/2 of 4 = 1/2 x 4 = 2
1/2 of 10 = 1/2 x 10/1 = 5
1/4 of 16 = 1/4 x 16/1 = 4

Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learner by asking them questions.

Step 3 : He then explain fractions using shapes and dividing them into equal and shading the given fractions
Step 4 : The teacher then explains fraction as part of whole number.
