Content :
A Fruit is a seed bearing structure of a flowering plant. A fruit is actually a ripened ovary, a component of the flower’s female reproductive structure.
They are also food ingredients or food substances which are eaten to supply vitamin s to the body. Fruits can be categorized as perennial crops.
Perennial crops are crops which complete their life cycles in three years or more.
Fruit may be taken immediately after meals. They serve as the raw materials for important industries since they are processed into beverages and alcohol. This simply means that fruit crops are both useful in the house and in the industry.
Examples of fruit crops are coconut, oranges, pears, carrot, mango, cashew, apple, pineapple, water – melon, grape, berry, etc
Uses of Fruits
Fruits helps to supply vitamins and fight against germs and diseases in the body.
Fruits can also be processed to make fruit juice. For example: orange juice, apple juice, pineapple
Presentation Steps:
Step 1: The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2: He / she introduces the new topic by asking What is fruit? He then defines fruit to the learners.
Step 3: The teacher then asks learners to give examples of fruits they know.
Step 4: He /she states the functions of fruits to the body.
