i. Identify and explain the functions of food to our body.
Previous Knowledge: Learners are familiar with food and examples of different kind of food.
Content: Functions of Food
Functions of food are the nutrients we get from eating food.
The following are functions of food:
1. It helps us to grow.
2. It gives us energy and strength.
3. It helps us not to be sick.
4. It makes our bones and teeth strong.
5. It makes us healthy.
Presentation Step:
Step 1: Review of the previous lesson with the learners to arouse their interest.
Step 2: Introduces the new topic to the learners by asking, “what is food?”; List examples of food eaten.
Step 3: The teacher explains the meaning of functions of food. Function simply means importance.
Step 4: He/ she asks the learners to state the functions of food
Evaluation:
