Content:
Function of the hands:
The hand is very important and can be used to do so many things. Therefore, we must take good care of our hands.
The functions of the hands are:
1. To carry things from one place to another
2. To do difficult kinds of work
3. To defend yourself from any attack
4. For expressing yourself e. g. Sign Language and gesticulation
5. For gripping things or holding something firmly
6. To put food in the mouth and
7. To maintain balance when walking or standing upright.
Functions of the feet.
i. For movement
ii. To provide support for the body
Reasons for Washing the hands and feet.
The hands and feet need to be taken care of because they are important parts of the body with special functions stated above. So, we must take good care of them.
The following are reasons why we must take care of our hands and feet.
1. To keep them clean.
2. To prevent diseases and illness.
3. To stop the spreading of germ and diseases.
4. To prevent foot problems such as foot rot or foot odour.
Presentation Steps:
Step 1: The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally
Step 2: He/ she introduces the new topic by explaining the importance of the hands and feet.
Step 3: He/ she asks the learners to mention the functions of the hands
Step 4: The teacher then asks the learners to state the functions of the feet.
Step 5: He/she then asks what are the reasons for taking care of the hands and feet. The teacher then states some important reasons for caring for the hands and feet.
Evaluation:
