Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Describe Future Tense Negative
ii. Form and classify future Tense Negative into normal form and contracted forms.
iii. Identify Future Tense Negative in sentences and Using it to from simple sentences.
Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with future tenses .
Content :
Future Tense : Negative
The future Tense is used to express an action in the future that will not take place.
It is used to show an action or event that has not yet happened.
There are various ways of forming future Tense :
1. By using the auxiliary verb ” will” or “shall” to form future Tense.
2. By using present continuous tense ” is going to” or “are going to” in talking about intention in the future.
To form future Tense Negative, we have to introduce “not” to form will not (won’t ) or shall not (shan’t).
For example :
Change the following future Tense to Negative.
1. I ‘ll see you tomorrow.
I won’t see you tomorrow.
2. I’m going to have a party.
I’m not going to have a party
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson by asking the questions orally on the future Tense.
Step 2 : He/ she introduces the new topic by explaining Future Tense Negative
Step 3 : Explains the concept of changing Future Tense into Negative Future Tense
Evaluation :
Use the two examples above to change from future Tense to future Tense Negative.
1. I will give a big party tomorrow.
