ii. Identify the different types of gender and give examples
Content :
Gender is an expression used to refer to living things. It tells us if a person or an animal is male or female.
For example : a man or a boy is a male. They are called Masculine. While a woman or a girl is a female. They are called Feminine.
Types of Gender.
1. Masculine gender : are names that refers to a person or an animal grouped as a male. For examples, boy, man, Father, uncle, husband, actor, king, prince, etc.
2. Feminine gender : are names that refers to a person or an animal which are female. For example, girl, woman, wife, spinster, aunt, mother, actress, queen, princess, etc.
3. Common gender : These are names of person or animals that does not tell us whether they are male or female. Examples are : artist, cool, teacher, cousin, baby, sheep, bat, chicken, mouse, bird, etc.

For person : are artist, cook, driver, friend, teacher, dancer, baby, cousin, singer, clerk, principal, cashier, lawyer, accountant, pupil, etc.
For animal : bat, deer, chicken, bird, mouse, hippopotamus, sparrow, monkey, kangaroo, sheep,
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by explaining the meaning of gender to the learners.
Step 3 : List types of gender and gives examples.
Step 4 : Give them some tasks to do under gender of masculine and feminine.
Evaluation :
Change the nouns in masculine to feminine.
Example :
He is my brother. = She is my sister.
