Behavioural Objectives: By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
i. Identify the different forms of greetings on Special occasions
ii. Mention the responses to the special occasion greetings.
Previous Knowledge: Learners are familiar with activities at home and in the school.
Content:
Greetings is a way of showing respect to one another.
There are different forms of greeting on Special occasions such as birthday, children’s day, democracy day, Christmas day and holidays.
Forms of greetings and the occasions
1. Birthday : Happy birthday!
2. New year : Happy new year
3. Christmas : Merry Christmas
4. Children’s Day : Happy Children’s day
5. Eid-el Fitri : Barka de Salah
6. Democracy day : Happy Democracy day
7. Independence day : Happy Independence day
8. Worker’s day : Happy Worker’s day
9. Easter : Happy Easter
Presentation Step:
Step 1: Review of the previous knowledge with the learners
Step 2: Introduces the new topic to the learners by asking, ” What is greeting ?”
Step 3: He / she asks the learners to mention the some forms of greeting
