Narrate the story of Hannah’s Prayer.
Content :
Hannah was the wife of Elkanah. Elkanah and Hannah had been married for so many years but Hannah never gave birth to any child i.e. She was barren.
Years later, Elkanah married another wife called wife called Penninah. She gave birth to so many children (made up of sons and daughters).
Penninah being the second wife was still jealous of Hannah and she started hurting Hannah with her present situation of barrenness.
Hannah never reacted to what Penninah did, instead she remained focus to God.
It is a tradition that all families should go to Shiloh annually to worship God. It was this journey Hannah and her family went and on getting to the tabernacle, she went straight into the Shiloh where she poured all her heart to God and also vowed to return the male child to God for full service. Eli, the high priest then accused her of being drunk. She responded that she was not.
God, seeing Hannah’s sincerity answered her prayer and Hannah was blessed with a male child called Samuel, who became the prophet that succeeded Eli.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revision of the previous topic with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : He/ she introduced the new topic to the learners by narrating the story of Hannah.
Step 3 : Explains how Penninah and her children make gest of Hannah.
Step 4 : Narrate where Hannah and her family usually go to for prayers annually.
