Content :
Meaning of honesty.
Honesty simply means telling the truth at all times. It is being able to be trusted. Honesty is being fair and upright. It is a good moral value.
Being honest means refusing to cheat, lie or steal. An honest person is a truthful person.
Dishonesty is the opposite of honesty. It simply means telling lies, stealing and cheating.
For being honest, there is reward while dishonesty leads to punishment.
Importance of Honesty.
1. Honesty creates a peaceful environment.
2. It promotes development by ensuring the new idea is applied to better the society.
3. It generates trust and respect.
4. It makes an individual a better person in the society.
5. It brings cooperation among the people.
Reward of Honesty
There is always a good reward for telling the truth always. Some of these are :
i. Praise
ii. Promotion at work.
iii. Gift and award
iv. Getting a special recognition for being honest with a good name and image.
Punishment of Dishonesty
Dishonest people can be punished in various ways by :
- beating
- shame
- disgrace
- Getting a bad name and soiling your family image and reputation.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by explaining the meaning of honesty and it importance.
Step 3 : Identify and state the reward of honesty and punishment of dishonesty.
Step 4 : Gives the learners some note to write in their exercise books.
