i. Define Modeling or Moulding
ii. Identify and list objects that can be molded.
iii. Describes the procedure for moulding an object.
Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with clay soil.
Content :
How to prepare clay for moulding
1. Collecting clay with a container.
2. Collecting a pounding tool such as mortal and pestle
3. Pounding the clay into pasty or sticky form
Moulding or Modelling
Moulding means an act of making a copy of an object similar (that is the same) in shape to the original but different in size.
The following are objects that can be model or molded with clay:
i. A cup ii. An earthen pot
iii. A spoon iv. A bottle
v. A plate vi. A ball
vii. A snake viii. A bowl
ix. A cock x. A mortal and pestle
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher reviews the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : He / she explains moulding or modeling.
Step 3 : The teacher state the preparation for moulding
Step 4: He / she then identifies objects that can be molded and list some examples .
Evaluation :
Get clay soil and mould the following:
1. A cup
2. A bowl
Conclusion : At the end of the lesson, learners were able to mention the procedures for modeling.
Assignment :
Project on moulding .
Mould a bottle with the use of clay soil.
Neatness and beautification attract good grade.
