Content :
HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
As human and living things we give birth to young ones. That is reproduction. There are organs in male and female that aid reproduction processes.
MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
The male reproductive system consist of a penis. Vas deferens (Sperm duct), a pair of testes in a scrotal sac, urethra and some associated glands.
The male Reproductive Organ.
FUNCTIONS OF THE MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
i. Testes – produces sperm.
ii. Urethra – carries sperm within the penis into the female organs.
iii. Scrotal sac – protect testes.
iv. Penis – introduces sperm into the vagina.
v. Vas deferens – transfer sperm from testes to seminal vesicle.
FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
The female reproductive system consist of the Ovaries, Oviducts, Uterus and vagina.
The Female Reproductive Organ.
FUNCTIONS OF THE FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
i. Ovaries – produces eggs.
ii. Oviduct – carries egg cells to the uterus.
iii. Uterus – receives and cares for developing foetus.
iv. Vagina – Outlet from the uterus or womb.
REPRODUCTION PROCESS
The male and the female comes together and have sex.
The male sex produces the male sperm (gametes) while the female sex produces the female egg cell (gametes or Ovum).
The sperm is introduced into the female sex organ where it fuses with the egg during fertilization.
The fusion produces a zygote, which develops into a new offspring inside the uterus of the female.
The zygote then develop to embryo.
After nine months the female will give birth to a baby.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The Teacher revises the previous lesson (EARTH AND SKY MOVEMENT).
Step 2 : The Teacher introduces the lesson through question and answer “THE HUMAN REPRODUCTIVE System”.
Step 3 : The Teacher explains the lessons.
Step 4 : The Teacher write the note on the board.
EVALUATION :
1. What is reproduction?
2. Mention three parts of the male and female reproductive organs each.
3. State the functions of the organs.
4. Draw and identify the female reproductive organs.
CONCLUSION : The teacher summarize the lesson and marks the learners notebooks.
