Content:
Non locomotive movement
A non-locomotor movement is a movement that a person performs while remaining stationary.
For example, twisting the body around its axis is a non-locomotor movement. The person remains in one spot while the upper body rotates from left to right.
There are many different non-locomotor movements. These includes :
i. Bending ii. Stretching
iii. Flexing iv. Extending
v. Lifting vi. Raising
vii. Twisting. viii. Turning
ix. Rotating. x. Swinging
xi. Swaying xii. Dodging
xiii. Shaking. xiv. Wiggling
xv. Pulling. xvi. Pushing
xvii. Standing xviii. Sitting
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : He/ she introduces the new lesson topic by explaining non locomotor movement
Step 3 : Identify and list examples of non locomotor movement.
Step 4 : Demonstrate the forms of non locomotor movement.
Evaluation :
The Teacher reviews the lesson by asking the learners the following questions :
1. What is Non locomotor movement ?
2. List four locomotor movements.
3. Demonstrates the following :
i. Sitting position
ii. Pulling skills
4. Give two differences between lifting and standing skills.
