Content :
Accident is an unexpected event with negative consequences.
It is a bad occurrence that happen suddenly, thereby causing injury, damage of properties or death.
Types of Accident at home and in school
In the school, accident may occur while playing on the school field. These are :
1. Falls
2. Cuts
3. Pushing from the staircase
4. Running along the corridor
At home, accident may occur due to carelessness, fault, etc.
1. Fire outbreak
2. Electric shocks
3. Falls due to wet floor with oil or soapy water
4. Natural disaster due to heavy rainfall resulting in flood.
Causes of Accidents in the school and at home.
Generally, accidents can be caused by
1. Carelessness
2. Lack of proper supervision
3. Mistake
4. Playing rough
5. Due to Natural disaster.
6. Playing with dangerous objects
7. Eating contaminated foods
The following are dangerous spots at home and in the school
1. Play ground
2. Kitchen
3. Toilet and bathroom
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : He/ she introduces the new topic by defining accident
Step 3 : Mentions the causes of Accident at home and in the school
Step 4 : Identify the danger spot of Accident in the school and at home.
