Content :

Drugs are substances that are taken into the body to cure diseases or illnesses.

They are given to sick people by a doctor or a nurse to make them feel better.

Ways of taking drugs into our body.

Drugs can be taken into the body through the following ways :

1. The mouth by swallowing with water.

2. Injection using needle and syringe.

3. Inhaled through the nose.

4. Rubbing on the skin surface. E.g balm, ointment.

Drugs may come in different forms which are :

i. Syrup : Drugs in liquid forms

ii. Tablets :

iii. Capsule

iv. Powdered form .

Categories of drugs

Drugs can be classified into two categories which are :

1. Legal drugs

2. Illegal drugs.

Presentation Steps :

Step 1 : Revision of the previous lesson taught with the learners by asking questions orally.

Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by asking them to  define drugs and identify who administers drugs.

Step 3 : Mentions ways of taking drugs and forms of drugs.
