Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with the term Security as safety.
Content :
Meaning of Security Education
Security Education is the study of how to be safe from dangers.
Dangers is a source that cause harm, pain, injury, loss of life or destruction of property.
When there is Security threat to life and property, there are many ways of making people know there is danger.
These are :
1. Raising an alarm, by shouting for help.
2. Blowing of whistle.
3. Use newspaper, radio, television or WhatsApp to alert people.
4. Make telephone calls.
5. Text messages.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous terms work in primary 1.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by explaining security.
Step 3 : Define Danger to the learners and gives several examples.
Step 4 : Identify and list ways of raising alarm in the face of dangers.
Evaluation : Teacher reviews the lesson by asking the following questions below:
1. What is Security Education?
2. What is danger?
3. Mention how we can alert people when we are in danger.
Conclusion : At the end of the lesson, the teacher makes some necessary corrections and marks the learners notes.
