Instruments for measuring length are
In the olden days, length is measured using hand span, foot, arms length, pace or stride. These are not accurate form of measurement.
But today, the accurate form of measuring length can be done using the following:
- Meter Rule
- Ruler

The International System Unit (SI Unit) of measuring length is Meter. Meter is indicated as m.
Other unit of length are centimeter and kilometer.
Metric unit of Length.
10 millimeters (mm) = 1 Centimeter (cm)
10 centimeter (cm) = 1 Decimeter
10 decimeter (dm) = 1 Meter
100 centimeter(cm) = 1 Meter(m)
1000 meter (m) = 1 kilometer (km)
