Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Explain movement patterns by animals and machines.
ii. Demonstrate the movement.
Content :
Movement in animals are of different patterns. This is based on the environment where the animals live. Some animals live in water, some on land while some above the ground, that is on trees.
The following are the different patterns of Movements made by different animals:
1. Walking : This involves the use of legs to move around from place to place. Examples of animals that carryout walking patterns are cats, dogs, man, goats, lion, etc.
2. Swimming : This is a type of Movement seen in animals that lives in water. They make use of fins and web-foot to perform this movement pattern. Examples of animals that swim are : fish, snake, frog, crab, prawn, duck, etc.
3. Crawling : This is a form of Movement made by lying flat with the belly facing down. Examples of animals that crawls are : earthworm, snail, lizard, crocodile, snake, rat, etc.
4. Hopping : This is a form of Movement that involves leaping, that is short jumping and landing. Examples of animals that hops are frog, grasshoppers, rabbit, kangaroos, etc.
5. Flying : This is a form of Movement seen in animals that possess wings. Examples are : birds, bees, butterfly, owl, sparrow, pigeon, etc.
6. Jumping : This is a form of Movement that involves lifting the entire body from one position and lands on another. Examples are monkeys, apes, kangaroo, etc.

There are many machines that aids different objects to move and produces different sound based on their structure.
Examples of Movement made by machines are :

Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic to the learners identifying animals their different movement patterns.
Step 3 : Give examples of Movement found in machines.
