Content :
Movement is a change in the position of an object. We use different parts of our bodies to move or direct objects. We move things with our hands, foot, chests and other parts of our bodies.
For example, when playing ball, we can use our body parts to shoot and head the ball.
Shooting :
This is kicking or hitting the ball hard with your leg or hand. It is a very easy way to score a goal or point.
In football, you shoot the ball with the leg to score a goal, but in basketball, you shoot the ball with the hand to score a point.
How to perform shooting in football.
1. Stand behind the ball and keep your eyes on the ball, which is the target.
2. Stand with one leg beside the ball.
3. Incline forward over the ball.
4. Strike the ball hard with your instep ( that is the top part of the foot that firms an arc between the ankle and toes.)
How to perform shooting in basketball.
i. Stance and balance : Balance with the right foot slightly in front of the left foot.
ii. Eyes on target : The eyes should be focused on the centre of the rim of the net and not the ball.
iii. Grip : Put the shooting hand under the centre of the ball with the guide hand at the side of the ball.
iv. Balance hand : Your non – shooting hand should be on the side of the ball.
