Content:
Naming ceremony is a ceremony held to give a name to a new born baby.
The ceremony of naming a child is different based on the different culture and ethnic groups we have in Nigeria.
Some culture gives name to a child the day he/ she is born. Some gives name seven days after the birth of the baby. While some takes three months after the baby is born.
Items used during naming ceremony are :
1. Honey
2. Water
3. Kolanut
4. Bitter kola
5. Salt
6. Bible / Quran
7. Sugar.
Presentation Steps:
Step 1: The teacher revises the previous week topics with the learners
Step 2: He/she introduces the new topic by explaining naming ceremony to the learners
Step 3: The teacher explains the topic to the learners by listing items used during naming ceremony
Evaluation:
1. What is naming ceremony?
