i. State the meaning of importing and exporting.
ii. Mention the advantages of importing and exporting.
iii. Mention the different natural resources.
iv. State how different natural resources are developed and managed
Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with the topic in their previous classes.
Content :
Goods are the materials produced or materials used in the production of finished goods.
Goods can be classified into foreign goods and home goods.
Foreign goods are the goods produced outside the country.
Home goods are the goods produced within the country
Name some foreign and Nigeria made goods
- Local made goods are textile fabrics, Furniture, shoes, ceramics, bags, beads, etc.
- Foreign made goods : Motor cars, electronics equipments, machines, communication equipment, wrist watches, Handsets.
Nigerian imports and export products.
Imports are the same as the foreign goods. They are goods manufactured in foreign countries and brought to Nigeria.
Exports are agricultural products found in Nigeria and exported to other countries.
Advantages of trading with other countries.
- Getting foreign exchange
- Wealth transfer of technology, friendly relations
- Creation of jobs
