Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with their names and that of some animals.
Content :
A noun is a naming word. It name a person, an animal, a place or things.
A noun is a name of any person, animal, place or thing.
Examples of nouns are :
1. Name of a person:
Ayomide, Iretomiwa, Fridaus, Mercy, Dayyan, Kareemot, Monday, John, etc.
2. Names of animal:
Rat, cat, lion, goat, dog, hen, giraffe, etc.
3. Name of place:
Ondo, Lagos, Tapa, London, Abuja, Market, School, Church, etc.
4. Name of things:
Pen, book, mat, car, ball, cup, fan, bag, table, chair, bell, etc.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1: Revision of the previous week topic with the learners.
Step 2: Introduction of the new topic to the learners by defining a noun.
Step 3: Explains the topic by giving several examples of nouns. He/ she then calls on the learners to give more examples of nouns.
Step 4: The teacher writes the examples on the board, spell and pronounce them, while the learners repeat after him/ her.
