Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Identify security measures
ii. State the security measures put in place for our safety.
Content :
Every individuals is expected to protect himself or herself from crime and social vices within and outside our environment.
Here are some safety tips that can keep us away from danger and evil.
1. Do not collect gift such as food or anything from a stranger.
2. Do not talk to or follow a stranger to anywhere.
3. Do not walk alone on the quiet road. Always walk with a friend.
4. Do not go out late at night. It is not safe to walk about at night.
5. Lock the doors and windows of your home especially at night.
6. Always let someone know your whereabout. Tell your parents where you are going. Do not leave the house without informing them.
7. If you notice someone is following you, walk fast to where people are gathered and raise alarm, let them know you are being followed by someone you do not know.
8. Avoid quarreling or fighting in the public.
9. Do not hesitate to call for help when you are in trouble or danger. Shout for people around to come to your aid.
10. Be very careful the way you pass information in the public.
11. Report any suspicious movement or action to security personnel or any adult around you.
12. Do not allow any stranger into your home or house without proper identification.
13. Dispose your trash properly to avoid giving important information to people.
14. Do not enter into a bus that does not have any passenger in it or have all round males. Watch carefully, before you join a bus.
15. Know your name, house address and your parents phone numbers.
