Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with plant as living things.
Content :
Plants are living things like animals. They grow in the soil where the conditions necessary for their growth is available. They feed on nutrients inside the soil and water.
They can grow , move, feed, produce young ones and can also die.
Plants are living things with stem, root and leaves.
Common plants are maize cassava, banana mango, pawpaw, pepper, potato, vegetables and fruits .
Parts of a plant.
The plant is made up of many different parts. These are :
i. Leaves
ii. Stem
iii. Roots
iv. Bud
v. Fruits
vi. Branches
vii. Nodes
viii. Stalk
The main important part of a plant are root stem and leaves.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally
Step 2 : He/ she introduces the new topic by describing plants as a living things
Step 3 : He/ she then asks the learners to identify the parts of plants
