Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Define perfect tense and list examples of the participles of some verbs.
ii. Describe the use of Has and have
iii. Make simple sentences on present perfect tense using has and have.

Content :
A perfect tense is a Tense of Verb that shows an action has already been completed.
A present perfect tense is used with “has” or ” have” together with the participle of the verb. Some participles takes or ends with ” –ed” or ” –en”

Has – is used with singular nouns or pronouns, joined with the past participle of the verb.
For examples : He, She, It, John, Mariam, etc. with the perfect tense given below:
1. He has gone home.
2. John has driven his car to the office.
3. Mariam has written her home work.
4. The tree has fallen down.
5. She has eaten all the apple.
Have – is used with plural nouns or pronouns such as I, You, We, They, Bola and Banjo, etc. They are used with the past participle of the verb.
1. I have given the money to my teacher.
2. We have swept the floor.
3. Bola and Banjo have spoken to the headmistress.
4. They have cooked the meal.
5. You have washed your uniforms.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by explaining present perfect tense.
Step 3 : The teacher describe the use of “has” or “have” in forming perfect tense.
Evaluation :
Underline the present perfect tense in the following sentences.
1. I have played the game just now.
2. Someone has stolen my pencil.
3. She has taken her book from me.
4. We have finished our work.
5. John and Daniel have ridden their new bicycles.
6. The farmer has grown new crops.
Conclusion : At the end of the lesson, learners were able to answer the following questions correctly.
