Behavioural Objectives: By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
i. Say the meaning of respect and give examples of how to show respect.
ii. Identify the we must show respect to in our community.
Previous Knowledge: Learners are familiar with helping others.
Content:
Respect means showing regards towards someone or something.
Respect is a sign of being loyal and obedient.
In our community we must show respect to the following people:
1. Our parents,
2. Elderly ones
3. Ruler
4. Our teachers
We can also respect symbols of authority.
How to show respect to our elders in the community.
1. We show respect by greeting our elders.
2. We show respect by helping our elders to cross the road.
3. We show respect by helping them to carry their bag.
4. We show respect by going on an errand for them.
5. We show respect by obeying our elders when they give us instructions.
Presentation Step: The teacher presents the lesson using the following steps:
Step 1: Review of the previous knowledge with the learners
Step 2: Introduces the new topic to the learners by asking, “what is respect ?”
Step 3: He / she asks the learners to mention the some of the people we must respect in our community.
