Instructional Material : Chart showing some of the traffic road signs and their meanings.
Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Define road traffic sign
ii. Explain each road signs with their symbols.
Content :
Road traffic signs are those signs we find on our roads. They give us directions anytime we are using the roads.
Some of the these road traffic signs are :
1. T-junction : This is where a road joins another forming a letter like ‘T’.
2. Stop : This sign shows that a moving vehicle should stop.
3. Bend sign : This shows that there is a bend on the road and the driver should slow down.
4. Zebra Crossing : This is a point on the road where pedestrian crosses the road. The driver slows down and stop for the pedestrians to cross the busy road at this spot.
The traffic light is used to control free flow on the road to avoid traffic and congestion on our roads.
The traffic light is made up of three colours, with each indicating what they represents.
i. Red Colour means Stop.
ii. Amber / Yellow means Get Ready
iii. Green means Go.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous knowledge with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : He/ She then introduces the new topic to the learners by explaining the road signs
Step 3 : Describe the traffic light and what each Colour represents.
