Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson learners will be able to :
i. Name the part of the body used for feeling.
ii. Give examples of feelings that the skin can respond to.
iii. Identify and name objects by touching.
Content :
The skin is the outer covering of the body. The skin can be found all over the body, on the face, feet, hands and entire body.
The skin feels it when something is
i. Hot or cold e. g. Ice cubes, hot tea, soup, acids.
ii. Smooth or rough e. g. Body cream, towel, pineapple,
iii. Heavy or light
iv. Soft or hard.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revision of the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new lesson by describing the sense of touch, that is the skin.
Step 3 : Identify and mention the parts of the body covered with skin.
Step 4 : Mention the things that the skin can feel within our surrounding, looking at temperature difference, texture, weight, etc.
