BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to:
i. Give simple meaning of sense organs.
ii. Identify the five senses and their uses
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Pupils are familiar with parts of their body.
CONTENT:
Sense Organs are parts of the body that enable us to be aware of things around us.
Examples of sense organs and their uses
1. Eyes – Sense of sight
2. Nose – Sense of smell
3. Ears – Sense of hearing
4. Skin – Sense of touch
5. Tongue – Sense of taste.
PRESENTATION:
STEP 1: Review of last term’s topic with the pupils
STEP 2: Introduction to the new topic – Sense Organs
STEP 3: Explanation of the new topic by defining the sense organs
STEP 4: Identify the five sense organs in our body and state their uses.
EVALUATION:
The teacher reviews his / her lesson by asking the following questions :
