iii. Match each sense organ with what it does.

Content: The sense organs
A sense organ is that part of the body which recognizes and responds to changes in the environment. The sense organs create awareness by helping to know what is going on around us.
There are five sense organs in the body, which includes:
i. The eye
ii. The ear
iii. The nose
iv. The tongue
v. The skin
The eye is the sense of sight. It is used to see objects in and around our environment.
The ear is the sense of hearing. It is used for hearing sounds within and around the environment.
The nose is the sense of smell. It is used for smelling things.
The tongue is a sense of taste. It is used for tasting things whether it is sweet, bitter, sour or salty.
The skin is a sense of feeling. It is used to feel touch, sensation
Presentation Steps:
Step 1: The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2: He /she introduces the new topic by asking the question, ‘ what is sense organ?’
Step 3: He / she then asks, “how many sense organs do we have?” List them
Step 4: The teacher then asks the learners to mention the uses of each sense organs.
